Question by Friendo: Has Army basic training and overall quality gotten weak over the years?
If seems they let just about anyone in these days with a more laxed basic training and government promises (money just for signing up, clearing student debts, etc). An old Army vet once told me that there was a time when Army training was as rigorous as Marines. Nowadays drills instructors aren’t allowed to be too mean anymore, wow, really?

What’s going on here? Is it just this latest generation of young people who have more or less have had everything handed to them their whole lives? Will it get tough again?

Best answer:

Answer by CJ
It is just to go with times the army changes frequently and the more relaxed ordeal I have the heard but I think it is BS because they can still get you mentally so I would suggest blow off the relaxed BS

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Army4Life: How does college and the army work out?
I just signed up for the army and got sworn in. And im going to the army as active duty. My job is 42A Human Resource Specialist (desk job). So im planning to do two years of a junior (community college) in the army. So i can transfer the credits to a major state university. I planning to do the major university courses online. So could I do that? And since my job is a desk job would it be easier to do college than being infantry ? And could i take courses at the army base that the credits could transfer to a major university?

Best answer:

Answer by Coyt63
YES, you can definitely earn college credits while serving. Alot depends on how long you plan to serve. Also remember that the Army is your more than full time job. You will have morning formations, PT tests, maybe some weekend work, and do not forget …. deployments. We are a nation at war. Sooner or later you will be over here in Afghanistan most likely. I would recommend you use a college that has ALOT of military experience … Univ of Maryland, Vincennes Univ, Emery Riddle are good schools with military experience.

Just understand that you will not be attending college full-time. If deployed, you may not have easy access to a computer. I would plan on 6 credit hours per semester max.

… good luck …

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) October 8, 2009

Silanis Technology, the leader in electronic signature process management, is pleased to announce that the US Army has renewed its annual electronic signature enterprise license support with Silanis Technology. The Army Audit Agency has validated that the use of electronic signatures is expected to save the US Army $ 1.3 billion every year once the Army Publishing Content Management System (“APCMS”) is fully implemented. This initiative is aimed at transforming US Army operations by eliminating paper from forms-based processing.

The US Army first began integrating Silanis’ electronic signature solution as part of the APCMS in 2005. In addition to the substantial cost-savings, the solution helps to keep US Army personnel out of harms way by eliminating the need to send convoys into hostile territories in order to obtain authorization and signature approvals. This can now be completed electronically from anywhere in the world. 2,400 of the most critical Department of Army forms are being digitized and made available to more than 1.6 million users. Fully deployed, this will represent the largest e-signature and e-forms deployment in the world.

Silanis’ electronic signature solution is used in conjunction with IBM Content Manager and IBM Lotus Forms to also reduce cycle times, and data-entry efforts and error. For example, the Army estimates that two hours will be saved each time an evaluation report is processed, for a total potential annual savings of $ 28 million. Furthermore, pre-populating forms with data will reduce data-entry efforts and errors, saving each person in the Army an estimated 30 minutes per day.

Tommy Petrogiannis, Silanis’ founder and President commented: “The US Army, one of the largest organizations in the world, undertook a monumental challenge five years ago to transform itself into a paperless organization. The progress made to date is evidenced by the recent Army Knowledge Management Award for the Army Action Tracking System which is based on IBM technology and incorporates Silanis’ e-signature functionality. We are very pleased to be an ongoing part of this as it validates the transformational value of our solutions and their scalability, all while strengthening and stabilizing our business model.”

About Silanis:

Silanis Technology Inc. is a leading provider of E-Signature Process Management solutions. The world’s leading insurance and financial services companies, major government agencies, integrators and service providers depend on Silanis to accelerate business transactions and reduce costs while improving compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Silanis’ electronic signature platform, ApproveIt®, is an enterprise-class ESPM solution that transforms paper-based business transactions to all-electronic, web-based processes for e-commerce and e-government. It can either include other tools at the cost of gigabytes, or can include all the usual tools you normal find in a Swiss Army knife. This flash [...]

Richmond Hill, GA (PRWEB) April 16, 2006

Internet mouth radio show, Army Wife Talk Radio (AWTR), evolved specifically for army wives, welcomes Kathy Peel “America’s Family Manager”, as seen on Oprah, CBS Early Show, HGTV, and more. AWTR will be kicking back off a four part series for Army wives on “Making The Best of 2006.” The first show is planned to air Jan 9, 2006 via the website and podcast. AWTR will broadcast weekly, with a fresh show each Monday for the remainder of the series accepting experts on topics of weight loss & exercise, goal setting, and setting your best face forward.

The site & show developed by Tara Crooks of Richmond Hill, Georgia has been no stranger to success. Launching April 18, 2005 Army Wife Talk Radio has seen over 500+ listeners per week. “I am overpowered by the amount of support AWTR has had,” says Crooks.

Crooks has been “married to the military” for seven years now. She has a passion for schooling and rendering a sense of community to other army wives. “In this day and age of war and deployments, many wives are gone forth on their personal to be, not only a wife and a mother, but also to go a financial advisor and an expert of lawn maintenance,” Crooks stated. “Becoming a fresh spouse to a soldier, traveling to a fresh installation, or running a household on your own can be, at the least, disagreeable. Many wives are left to their own devices with little or no support,” she went on.

If you would like to be a guest of Army Wife Talk Radio and have a subject matter specific to the Army, contact Tara Crooks using the contact information above. For more information on advertizing with Army Wife Talk Radio visit the website http://www.ArmyWifeTalkRadio.com
