The purchase is expected to close in January of 2011.

The acquisition follows AvStar’s model of vertical expansion in the aviation industry. The American Water Works Association (AWWA) today denoted it will lead a ground-breaking fresh study on how municipalities counted on water demand within the context of foreseen climate change

The project, funded by a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will render recommendations on how to better actual water demand counting on and key out areas of substantive future research

The study includes an assessment of actual computer models, workshops to key out knowledge gaps, development of research priorities, and recommendations for reducing risk through bettered demand counting on. The researchers will conduct model simulations at two imbibing water utilities

“This project is of import in its focus,” stated AWWA Executive Director David LaFrance. “Most studies on climate change and imbibing water have concentrated on the supply side, appearing at water resources. The examination of water demand adds a crucial fresh perspective. AWWA is excited about the opportunity to assist municipalities deal with the analyzable questions environing water demand and climate change.”

AWWA Director of Federal Relations Alan Roberson will serve as principal investigator for the project. Other members of the project team admit faculty from George Washington University and the University of Colorado at Boulder, along with staff from the environmental facilitator, Kearns & West.

The project will take approximately two years to accomplished.
