Agua Caliente is the world’s largest solar photovoltaic project currently under construction. The Yuma County, Arizona project has obtained all permits and approvals from both federal and state agencies, and is expected to create up to 400 construction jobs through its completion date in 2014. Financial terms of the sale of the project were not disclosed.

Electricity from Agua Caliente will be sold under a 25-year power purchase agreement with Pacific Gas and Electric Co., helping California to meet its ambitious renewable energy goals. At full capacity, the electricity generated by Agua Caliente is enough to serve more than 225,000 homes. The project is expected to offset approximately 5.5 million metric tons of CO2 over 25 years, the equivalent of taking over 40,000 cars off the road annually.

5to1 focuses on premium brands and media partnered in a marketplace environment, enabling major media publishers to fill unsold inventory with premium advertisements. 5to1 works with more than 20 premium publishers.

“We’re thrilled for our media partners that Yahoo! is backing our platform and the alliance,” said James Heckman, 5to1 CEO and co-founder. “The 5to1 team is looking forward to joining Yahoo! at the close of the transaction and being part of its global reach.”

Yahoo! expects to close the acquisition in the second quarter. After the close of the transaction, the 5to1 team will be joining Yahoo! as part of the Ad Marketplaces group.

The amount of the transaction will be €7,950 M, split as follows:

€7,750 M, corresponding to a 6.2 multiple of SFR’s reported 2010 EBITDA (€3973 M);

A lump sum of €200 M, reflecting the generation of cash between January 1st, 2011 and July 1st, 2011.

Additionally, SFR and Vodafone will extend their commercial co-operation for a further three years.

Commenting on the agreement, Jean-Bernard Lévy, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer declared: “We are very pleased to reach our strategic objective to own 100% of SFR, which will help Vivendi to focus further on profitable growth and innovation. I am very confident that this will greatly benefit both the Group’s industrial development and our millions of subscribers and consumers globally. The transaction will create a significant increase in Vivendi’s adjusted net income, enabling us to raise the dividend to our shareholders.”

This agreement is subject to customary Competition Authority approval. Completion of the transaction is expected by end June, 2011.

The Jesse Kalisher Gallery announced today that the Boca Raton Museum of Art has acquired an original Jesse Kalisher print from Kalisher’s Art Watching Collection. The Boca Museum is the first in the country to acquire this particular print, titled “Mona Lisa at the Mona Lisa,” for its permanent collection.

Although this is the museum debut for “Mona Lisa at the Mona Lisa,” Kalisher’s work is not unfamiliar to permanent collections. Several museums around the country have acquired Kalisher’s work including the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore and the DeYoung Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and the San Jose Museum of Art. Selected pieces from his “Human Race at Work” collection were recently on exhibit at The Oakland Museum of California for one year. In addition to all of this, his work has been exhibited at Chicago’s Field Museum, Photo S.F., Photo L.A., and San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club.

Kalisher’s print will join an impressive photography collection at the Boca Museum, one that represents a plethora of 20th century photography masters including Dorothea Lange, Ansel Adams, and Walker Evans. The museum, which was recently named the “Official Fine Arts Museum for the City of Boca Raton,” celebrates 55 years of existence in 2006.

“I am honored that my work will be displayed alongside such revered photographers,” says Kalisher whose work has often been compared to that of the artists he respects and admires. Drew Johnson of the Oakland Museum of California touts Kalisher as “an important photographer in the tradition of Dorothea Lange.”

Museum acquisitions are not the only thing keeping Kalisher busy today. His new book “if you find the Buddha” is in print and due for a May release by publisher Chronicle Books. The book is a collection of 93 color images of The Buddha shot in the United States in Thailand. Even with all of this on his plate, Kalisher still finds the time to continually add to his collection of more than 1000 images. “I am fascinated by the world we live in,” Kalisher says, “and I consider myself lucky to be able to photograph it.”

Taiwan has had a great deal of trouble with Filippinas, especially young, single women. You’d better be able to prove you have a “real” job – a very good job – to return to after a brief vacation. Otherwise, they are likely to assume you are looking for “work” walking the streets. It is not going to be enough to prove you have money.
